Gia Skova, fierce and unstoppable on screen, inventive and professional behind the camera, is conquering Hollywood with her take on action movies as an actress and director at the same time. Although the star of catwalks and brand campaigns still welcomes fashion in her life, her main focus now is on delivering a new fascinating feature film.
Gia, you are a popular model and actress. Is it true that today cinema has become a priority for you?
Yes, this is a great description. You have hit the mark. However, the fashion world isn’t letting me go. We recently launched a line with Carbon&Hyde by Gia Skova and of course, I love working with designers that I resonate with, I always do and will. Being the face of a company is a great honor for me, especially when we talk about brands like Chanel, Gucci, Valentino. Nonetheless, I devote most of my time to movies as it is a longer and more extensive career move.
Let’s talk about the movie Christmas Recital. At what stage is the work now and what attracts you to this project?
Christmas Recital is an interesting and fun project. We are currently working on it. It’s a delightful combination of magic, children, ballet and Christmas spirit. Working on this picture, I am already in anticipation of my next project, Cinderella Story, and the movie SUPER POWER LADY. These projects fuel my passion.
You have achieved a lot in Hollywood environment. Tell us about your breakthroughs in recent years.
. I can’t help but talk about The Serpent action movie, which was my debut as a director. It was a great experience for me to be in front of the camera and behind it at the same time. It was quite a challenge and it gave me a new-found respect for people who have do this. The movie found its audience and was released worldwide. I love action movies so if you have not seen this movie I invite you to watch it. You can write us, we are always happy to hear from you! The movie has its own Instagram account @serpentfilm. I’m grateful to say that will be Serpent 2. I’ve taken part in some wonderful pictures but I always like to set my sights on the future and enjoy talking about future projects.
What personal traits have helped you to achieve success?
As the great Nicola Tesla once said, «Working with the subject of electricity, there is still so much to learn». And so it is with movies. You know, I like to learn new things and fully dedicate myself to this subject. I chose this path to be an actress and I am ready and accept the rules of this game, I am ready to play this game to the end.
How do you recharge, do you have any places of strength?
I don’t get tired. Sometimes I take a break changing the activity of work. I really like to walk especially in the mountains. For me it is a vacation. And I also like skiing.
