InStyle: Alessio, welcome to InStyle! Your new cover— titled “The Making of a Legend: Alessio Filippelli’s Inevitable Reign”—is electrifying. What was the vision behind this bold, powerful shoot?

Alessio Filippelli: Thank you! This shoot represents a turning point for me. I wanted to capture the idea of breaking free—free from others’ expectations, free from my own limits. I’m in a place right now where I’m choosing myself first and exploring the endless possibilities that come with that choice. I wanted these images to feel unapologetic and strong, like a rallying cry for anyone looking to embrace their own power.
InStyle: You’ve been vocal about empowerment in past interviews, but this time around it feels more direct and intense. How has your perspective evolved?
Alessio Filippelli: In the past, my message was softer, more nurturing. Now, I’m in a headspace where I believe empowerment also needs to be fierce. Sometimes you have to shake things up to break out of old patterns. Each challenge I’ve faced—and trust me, there’ve been plenty— has pushed me to grow. It’s a direct path to becoming who you’re meant to be. I want people to see that growth isn’t always pretty or quiet; it can be loud, messy, and incredibly powerful.
InStyle: Your recent shoots have certainly sparked conversation—some might even say they’re provocative. Is that your intention?
Alessio Filippelli: I never set out to be provocative for its own sake. My goal is to spark dialogue. If an image or a concept makes people pause, question, or reflect on their own views, then I’ve done my job. I use my art to talk about freedom, self-expression, and the empowerment of who we are—sexuality included. If it provokes, it’s only because it touches on something real and raw. That’s where the power lies.
InStyle: You mentioned you’re surrounded by more creative friends and collaborators lately. How has that impacted your approach?
Alessio Filippelli: It’s been everything. Being around people who push boundaries in their own fields— whether it’s fashion, photography, or film—encourages me to experiment and play. There’s an energy exchange that happens when creatives come together. We feed off each other’s ideas and passions, and that energy ends up fueling my work. I’m in a chapter of total reinvention: visually, mentally, spiritually. And it’s exhilarating.
InStyle: We’ve heard whispers of a collaboration with a clothing brand in the works. Can you tease anything about that?

InStyle: There’s also talk about a new movie on your horizon. We’re intrigued—what can you share?
Alessio Filippelli: I’m about to start filming later this year, and this photoshoot actually includes a subtle nod to the character I’ll be playing. It’s an intense role that dives deep into the complexities of identity and transformation, which ties back to this theme of freedom and self-discovery. I love leaving little breadcrumbs in my shoots that readers can connect later when the project is out.
InStyle: “The Making of a Legend” is quite the statement. What do you want your audience to take away from this reign you’re declaring?
Alessio Filippelli: I want them to understand that a “legend” isn’t some unattainable status—it’s an embodiment of your own truth. Every single one of us has a legend inside, waiting to be unleashed. But you have to choose yourself. You have to break free from what holds you back and let the world see who you really are. If my journey inspires someone to do that, then I’ve done more than just take a photo or play a character—I’ve contributed to something bigger.
InStyle: Finally, if you had one piece of advice for those looking to step into their own power, what would it be?
Alessio Filippelli: Stop waiting for permission. You’re allowed to take up space and claim your destiny. Every challenge you face can be a catalyst for growth. Embrace the discomfort, channel that energy into your art—or whatever you’re passionate about—and let it transform you. That’s how you become unstoppable. That’s how you build your own legend.
